Reliving a royal past

Guests are free to access vast living spaces, all inspired by the Royal past, grand yet welcoming. They can wander around, and dine or relax in comfort and splendor. Light fittings, carpets, objets d’art and colour schemes are all original or chosen to fit into history with charm and beauty – along with some playful more modern touches. Many of the items of furniture and art have been in Åke’s family for generations.

Grand dining rooms

Amongst communal rooms are the formal dining room with two long tables to fit 20 people, and the King’s dining hall with two round tables for 20 people. The pleasant breakfast room has seating for 12.

Elegant library

The oak-panelled Library is an important and much loved part of social life at Skottorp, a comfortable and elegant spot invoking its Royal history with a striking painting of King Charles XII – the legendary warrior king of Sweden (1697 – 1718). There is also a painting of Charles X on the walls – and four queens.
Conference delegates enjoy having informal break-out groups on the long library sofas. And it’s always a perfect spot for drinks before and after dinner for any kind of guest.

Homeliness

The castle is the owners’ private home and they are always there to receive guests, who are treated to personal care and attention, like special friends.
