Wining & dining

Dining

The menus are provided according to the wishes of the guests, cooked up by chefs and even sometimes by the gentleman host Åke – who has a way with wild duck (possibly shot by the guests themselves). For those with the highest aspirations for their palates, the owners bring in a gourmet chef from Helsingborg’s Sofiero.
Meals can be enjoyed in the main Royal dining room or the elegant Kings Hall – each with two tables for 10 people each. Another option is the Orangery – an elegant glass and metal dining room by the lake for 10-12 people. It also has a terrace for outdoor dining served by a bar and a kitchen.
Groups often choose to sit in the breakfast room the first evening, before everyone arrives. The 2nd night they usually choose the Kings Room, and the 3rd night they usually have a formal dinner in the Main Dining Room.
Afternoon tea can be offered in the South Wing – light, cosy and elegant.
Halland is probably the best part of Sweden for fresh produce, which overflows from the surrounding farms.

Wine

The castle has a noble and ancient wine cellar, from which Åke retrieves bottles to pair with the various dinner courses – or guests can bring in a professional sommelier. If they choose. Wine tasting is one of the favourite activities on offer at Skottorp.
